Climatic Impact Assessment Program Error Variance Analysis. Statistical Aspects of Atmospheric Monitoring.

This report summarizes the work performed by Systems Control,Inc. (SCI) under the generic title 'CIAP Error Variance Analysis,'for the six month period from 1January 1975to 30June 1975. The primary effort by SCI during this period was related to statistical aspects of monitoring. This report begins with a discussion of the factors that must be considered in monitoring network design. The next several sections of the report are devoted to specific analytical studies in trend analysis,sensitivity analysis,and causal discrimination analysis. The report concludes with a summary of the current knowledge of ozone spatial and temporal distributions and their causes.
