A Study of the Street-Damage Problem in Hoboken. Causes,Repair and Prevention.

A detailed study of the overall street damage problem in Hoboken--potholes,depressions,and cracks--is presented. A thorough reading of available literature plus many personal interviews with workers involved with the problem resulted in an assessment of the prevention,causes,and repairs of street damage as they occur in Hoboken. Repair practices as recommended by the Asphalt Institute used in New York City are described in detail,whenever available costs are given. A map of current (May 1975) pothole size and location in Hoboken,as prepared by the Community Associates,is available. Finally,various conclusions and recommendations are presented.
