The case history tells about the Appalachian Regional Commission's first primary health care clinic. It describes how the plans for the Southeastern Kentucky Regional Health Demonstration Council were implemented; the evolution of health care in an isolated coal mining hollow of Harlan County; regional cooperation; the Appalachian Regional Commission 202 Health Demonstration; the Community Field Professorship program at the University of Kentucky; and a human interest story about a committed staff working as a health team.
