The study includes introductory material on the energy situation, a description of boilers and factors affecting boiler efficiency, a complete test program for determining efficiency and factors causing poor performance, a presentation of economics associated with energy conservation,proper methods for controlling boiler load,air-fuel ratio and feedwater chemistry,various capital expenditures for the recovery of waste heat from boilers,and a description of the operation and maintenance of boilers.
