摘要

The conference concentrated on legislative and political aspects of salt and salinity management together with better understanding of new technology that affects operations and management. Not included is any consideration of desalting technology--which could occupy an entire conference by itself--nor some of the theoretical and methodological modeling that is continually pushing back the frontier of knowledge. The conference concentrated on topics and an orientation that will be most immediately useful to those concerned with management and operation of water systems who must cope with the problems of salt and salinity management.
