Youth's Perceptions of National Park Service Rangers

A total of 600 adolescents (301 males and 299 females) in grades 9-12 from 21 schools in the metropolitan Atlanta area were interviewed to gather information on their perceptions of National Park Service rangers. Four general dimensions of a ranger's role were described by the respondents: (1) personality, (2) interpersonal communications, (3) actions involving youth, and (4) physical appearance and gestures.
