摘要

Worker exposure to residual chloroprene (126988), toluene (108883), xylene (1330207), and hexone (108101) was determined at the Nazar Rubber Company (SIC-2822) in Toledo, Ohio on April 7, 1977. The company was included in an industry wide study of facilities using chloroprene or neoprene. The company employed about 42 production workers in the roll division. Two personal and two area samples were collected. Concentrations of toluene, xylene, hexone, and residual chloroprene were 2.9 to 25.5, less than 2, less than 2, and 0.14 to 0.18 parts per million (ppm), respectively. These concentrations were all well below the OSHA 8 hour time weighted average standards of 200, 100, 100, and 25 ppm, respectively. The authors suggest that chloroprene may have induced angiosarcoma in one worker who died after working as a roll builder.
