Estimation and Quality Control of Welded Joints by Application of Statistical Methods

The book explains the basic concepts of quality and reliability of welded joints and instruments, and gives an analysis of the factors that affect the quality. It also discusses the methods of improving the quality of welding, together with the specifics of shifting from the stage of passive control to that of regulating the quality of products. It discusses the functions and current methods of nondestructive quality control in welding, and expounds the methods of calculation and estimation of the quality welded articles using classical indices and coefficients of relative reliability along with some aspects of mathematical statistics and their application in the quality control of welds. Moreover, there is a discussion of probability models for calculating the norms of permissible defects and central plans. Finally, a complex approach is suggested for quality estimation taking into consideration the operational, technological, defectometric, qualimetric, and economic aspects.
