摘要

This workshop was conducted to examine the present state of fine particle technology and its trends and problems and delineate the future research needs and opportunities. The workshop concentrated on the general areas of Particle Properties,Particle-Fluid Separation,Particle Handling,and Control considerations in particle technology. Each of the four areas was discussed by selected speakers from industry,government and academic institutions. Copies of the texts of the plenary lectures and the prepared comments of the panel members are contained in this proceeding. The workshop clearly identified an urgent need for development of fundamental scientific and technical information in Particle Technology. Recognition should be given to a fundamental problem of education for particle technology. The need is pointed out for establishing fine-particle science and technology centers in the U.S.
