Coastal Problems and Resource Management: A Secondary Social Studies Course

Coastal Problems and Resource Management (CPRM) is a one semester course for secondary school students being developed by the Curriculum and Development Group of the University of Hawaii. It is a part of a larger Marine social Studies Project, which will ultimately include international and open ocean issues to compliment the national environmental and citizenship education themes emphasized in CPRM. The course focuses on the coastal region of the United States and the political, economic and ecological factors involved in the development of coastal resources.
