Manual for Mine Ventilation System Analysis by Remote Terminal Telephone Computer Link

Researchers at The Pennsylvania State University, with support from the U.S. Bureau of Mines, have developed a computer program, based on the Hardy-Cross algorithm, for complex mine ventilation system analysis. The purpose of this work is to make this system analysis capability available to ventilation engineers working from mine sites. To this end, the program has been restructured on the University of Kentucky IBM 370 computer to make it fully conversational for remote terminal telephone-link access. This manual gives instructions for the use of the DIAL )S-370 system, and presents sample problems of increasing complexity.
