摘要

The probability that western juniper is increasing at a phenomemal rate throughout its range is shown, drawing upon written record, photographic record, and casual observation. Scarcity of knowledge about this plant leaves land managers to make uninformed decisions about its management. Meanwhile, a much needed research campaign to answer principal questions about western juniper has yet to be organized.
