A noncontact Eddy Current Anthropomorphic Dummy Chest Deflection Gage developed under contract DOT-HS-7-01550 underwent a test and evaluation at NHTSA Safety Research Laboratory, Riverdale, Maryland. The test series involved static calibration of the gage and dummy chest cavity. It was then subjected to a series of high and low level pendulum drop tests simulating the FMVSS 208 Standard. A sled test series was utilized to compare seat belt loading and corresponding chest deflection for simulated 30 mph barrier impacts.
