摘要

The papers are grouped in two categories:those having to do with the mathematical problems involved in the technology of energy production, and those which have to do with the mathematical problems of estimating the resources of energy and the efficient distribution of available energy. The models for energy production are in the form of fairly complicated systems of partial differential equations whose solutions require techniques of finite difference schemes, finite element methods, and Fourier techniques. The models of energy distribution are large networks;their analysis is based on techniques from statistics, linear programming, dynamic programming, and techniques of optimization.
