Training in Occupational Safety and Health Program Conducted at the Center for Safety, New York University: Final Report

The New York University Center for Safety graduate training program in occupational safety and health was described. The program has had an increasing number of graduates over the past several years and an increasing number of graduates obtaining employment in the occupational safety and health field. Of the 13 students who received degrees from 1976 through 1978, one entered the academic field, two into government service, seven into industry, two into the insurance field, and one into organized labor. Of the 36 graduates during the period covered by the report, over 90 percent of them were employed in full time occupational safety and health positions. Increased enrollment has been noted among members of minority groups, representatives of organized labor, and full time students.
