Health Hazard Evaluation Determination Report No. 77-100-468, Porter Memorial Hospital, Denver, Colorado

A health hazard evaluation was conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) at Porter Memorial Hospital, Denver, CO. on September 20, 21, and 22, 1977. Environmental breathing zone samples were collected to determine concentrations of halothane, ethrane, and nitrous oxide in the operating rooms. There were no specific health problems at the time of this request. The recognition by operating room personnel of the potential health hazards associated with chronic exposures to anesthetic gases was responsible for the health hazard evaluation request.
