The Workshop address four major areas of oceanography: The interaction between the monsoon and ocean circulation and characteristics of the Indian Ocean; Factors influencing biological productivity of the Northern Indian Ocean; Sources, fluxes, and fates of materials entering the seas around India; Marine geoscientific studies of the Indian margins and plate tectonic phenomena.
