Outer Continental Shelf Hard Minerals Leasing: Economic Feasibility Study of OCS Mining of Phosphorites Offshore Southern California

The study sees offshore Southern California phosphorites as competing with Florida and Rocky Mountain phosphate rock for the Pacific Coast Markets. The study used the Port of Stockton, California as the central marketing point, and analyzed mineral recovery systems using drag-bucket dredges or a submerged pump hydraulic dredge. The study covers market analyses, OCS mining review, mineral recovery, environmental concerns and an economic analysis which includes net cash flows.
