The Benefits of Air and Water Pollution Control: A Review and Synthesis of Recent Estimates

The report has four major objectives. The first is to provide a critical review of those previous studies which have attempted to estimate air and water pollution control benefits in monetary terms or which might provide an empirical basis for making such an estimate. This review evaluates the theoretical framework underlying each of the estimates, the validity of the estimation technique, and the adequacy of the data.
