A new computer-based numerical model, SEDRES, is developed for the calculation of amounts, rates, and spatial distributions of sediment in lakes and reservoirs. The principal components of SEDRES compute the following: sediment entrapment, distribution, and differential settling for three different size classes (clay, silt, and sand).
