Systems Study of the Technologies Useful for Providing Economical Telephone Service in Rural Alaska. Volume I:Executive Summary.

摘要

The study examines the present Alaskan experience with telephone systems and their use of satellite systems. Key technologies are examined that could be used in satellite based telephone systems. An assessment is made of current and evolving state of the art equipment. A program is recommended to the REA that would involve the installation of equipment appropriate for the expansion of Alaskan thin-route service. The major findings of the study include recommendations on maintenance considerations,the use of a Demand Assignment Multiple Access, DAMA,system,local distribution plant,Common Channel Inter-Office Signaling, CCIS,and ticketing and billing functions.
