摘要

This three-volume report summarizes the activities and conclusions of this contract. The objective of the investigation was to develop noise control modifications on a retrofit basis,for auger miner coal-cutting systems. Manuals were prepared to assist mine shop personnel in retrofitting the auger miner with these noise controls. Volume I details all vibration and acoustical tests conducted in development of the noise controls.
