Statistical Tables from the Survey of Research and Development in Small Companies, 1976

The set of tables presents the results of a mail survey conducted during the last quarter of 1977 of small research and development-performing companies to determine their problems in 1976. Responses were received from 1,232 companies which met the size criteria of less than 500 employees for manufacturers and less than 100 employees for nonmanufacturers. The tables present information on the companies and their problems by characteristics such as form of ownership, year company began operation, Standard Industrial Classification, geographic location, employment size, and financial condition.
