Planning for Exterior Work on the First Parish Church, Portland, Maine: Using Photographs as Project Documentation

Through a series of annotated photographs showing damage and deterioration to a specific church building, it is being shown how work recommendations were made. It is useful methodology for owners and developers, planning preservation or rehabilitation projects for any building. The document includes architectural specifications for several work areas, such as site improvements, mortar, brick masonry, rough carpentry, slate roofing, dampproofing, flashing, and painting. The U.S. Department of Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation Projects are included as an Appendix.
