Combustion of Paraquat Contaminated Marijuana Analyses of Paraquat and Its Degradation Products

This report fulfills a request of the DHEW Secretary in 1978 to assist the degree of actual or potential risk to humans when marijuana contaminated by the herbicide paraquat is consumed. Following completion of this analytical services report, and of a sampling program undertaken by the Center for Disease Control, the Secretary advised the Secretary of State (as he was required by law to do) that the spraying of marijuana with paraquat is likely to cause serious harm to the health of some persons who may consume the sprayed marijuana.
