Evaluation of Restorative Maintenance Retesting of Passenger Cars in Detroit

The report describes the results of an exhaust emission testing program in which twenty-seven vehicles received prescribed sequences of testing, corrective maintenance, and retesting at different time intervals. The purpose of this program was to study the effects of age and mileage on emission levels, control system durability and ultimate restorability.
