Foreign Investment in the United States: A Summary of Federal Laws Bearing on Foreign Investment in the United States

With a few exceptions, the United States does not impose special restrictions on foreign investment in this country. Its long standing policy toward international investment is to neither promote or discourage investment flows or activities. A key step in maintaining an open climate for investment is to promote a more widespread knowledge of the laws and regulations applying to investment in this country. This publication is designed to serve that objective.
