A Cultural Resources and Impact Area Assessment of the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, Dare County, North Carolina

Archival investigations and field reconnaissance were conducted to assess the cultural resources of the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge and to determine if proposed projects would have an impact on such resources. The Refuge is part of the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and previous archeological research had indicated that the study area had been subjected to considerable environmental flux in recent centuries. No significant archeological resources were identified in the study area, nor was any evidence uncovered.
