The report is a series of papers which were prepared for the CONEG Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Meeting held at the World Trade Center in New York on January 30, 1979. This January meeting helped establish a 1979 transportation agenda as part of CONEG's new Northeast Economic Development Strategy. The papers included are: Transportation and Economic Development in the Northeast; The Northeast Rail Corridor and Its Relationship to a Northeast Economic Development Strategy; The Northeast Corridor Redirection Act of 1979--Its Importance to Economic Development; Rail Freight Legislative Reform--Issues and Analysis from the CONEG Perspective; Major Motor Carrier Deregulation Issues Affecting the CONEG States.
