An assessment of the state-of-the-art in protective clothing and equipment for the firefighter is provided,with a description of relevant standards which fire departments can use in developing purchase specifications. Areas covered by the report are:helmets,face shields and goggles,fire coats and trousers,boots and shoes,gloves,station uniforms,and respiratory protective devices.
