The report presents summary employment and salary statistics for positions employed on NIH research grants awarded in FY 1976. Emphasis is on positions reported as being in a training status; these are presented throughout by academic level and are compared to training grants and fellowships. This report is a supplement to Manpower Report 2, published in February 1978, which contained the same data for fiscal years 1973, 1974, and 1975. In addition, Tables A through H describe employment trends for the four years, 1973 - 1976. Key variables include type of institution, field/discipline/specialty of project employment, degree held or sought, age group, and sex.
