Geriatrics: VA (Veterans Administration) Challenge of the 80's

This symposium was convened to assist the VA medical community in dealing with two increasingly serious problems: (1) the growing number of veteran geriatric patients, and (2) present and future needs for cost containment. The 14 papers presented at the symposium and reproduced in these proceedings address the quantitative and qualitative increases in the demand for geriatric health care, and related societal, legal, and ethical issues.
