This report profiles 29 communities located throughout the country to capture those features conducive to commercial / industrial marketing. General information includes each city's population and employment figures, the good points of its location and transit system, and households' average earning power. Development trends are noted in terms of available office space, retail / commercial opportunities, housing market conditions, industrial activity, and other special features. Site information is given on a few development projects (i.e., malls, residential areas, etc.) in each community. Maps and site plans are provided in some cases. The communities covered are Akron, Cleveland, and Columbus, Ohio; Baltimore and Montgomery County, Md.; Alexandria and Norfolk, Va.; Boston and Springfield, Mass.; Bridgeport, Conn.; Dade County / Miami and Jacksonville, Fla.; Decatur, Ga.; Detroit, Mich.; Galesburg and Highland Park, Ill.; Kansas City, Mo.; New York City and Rochester, N.Y.; Portland, Oreg.; Gary, Ind.; Washington, D.C.; Seattle, Wash.; Spartanburg, S.C.; Wilmington, Del.; and San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, and Long Beach, Calif.
