Some Remarks on Gravimetric Geodesy (Based on a Connection between Geometric and Gravimetric Geodesy; A First Sketch by W. Baarda)

For strengthening the precision of the positioning in the direction perpendicular to the earth surface and for obtaining the gravitational field of the earth, prof. Baarda developed a new theory which, among other things, differs from the classical theory, because of its connection with elements of geometric geodesy. Also aspects which are somewhat obscured in the classical formula system are now clearly recognizable in the computing model of the new theory. This paper tries to clarify and elaborate some points of prof. Baarda's theory. Many parts of the extensive work (Baarda, W., 1979) are not treated. The main line of thought, however, is tried to be explained. Also some original aspects, which are not or in a very brief manner described in (Baarda, W., 1979), are treated in this paper.
