Knowledge Development Framework: Knowledge Development Activities, Fiscal 1978-1979

This volume examines the funding strategy of the Office of Youth Programs for FY 1978-79. YEDPA provided substantial discretionary authority to the Secretary of Labor to develop projects addressing the employment problems of youth. A breakdown of the $215 million in discretionary funds distributed over the two-year period is provided by the following categories: basic research; evaluation of formula-funded programs; evaluation of demonstration projects; technical assistance; and projects providing direct employment and training services. In addition, the funding strategy is further categorized by delivery agent type: prime sponsors; community based organizations; and others (e.g., schools, unions, private employers).
