Formulas and Procedures for Estimating the Collapse Loads of Ship Structural Members

Formulas and procedures for the estimating collapse loads of ship structural members are presented. These formulas are essential for the determination of the velocity field for the analysis of the collapse loads of ship structures in collision. (Re Report No. MA-RD-940-81065, Title: Structural Analysis of the Collapsing Bow of a Striking Ship.) Most of these formulas are based on results published in the literature, with some modification by the author.
