A Quality Assurance System for Community Based Mental Health Programs

This manual provides an approach to developing an optimal quality assurance system in a mental health outpatient care setting. The ideas in this guide have evolved from the process of testing the utility of an outcome-based peer review system within a Community Mental health centers setting. While this manual relies heavily on the information gained in the demonstration, it also reflects the experiences of other practitioners as reflected in the literature. It is intended to assist mental health administrators, evaluators, and practitioners in planning, operating, and evaluating a quality assurance program that emphasizes the use of concurrent review of treatment quality.
