Steel produced by American workers in American plants is a basic commodity of key importance to the free world's economy and security. This most basic structural material in our industrialized society contributes significantly to the health of the economy and quality of life in the United States. The report discusses Federal support for research and development, Federal Policies on technology innovation in the Steel Industry, and utilization of modern technology within the industry.
