Toward a National Plan for the Chronically Mentally Ill: Report to the Secretary by the Department of Health and Human Services Steering Committee on the Chronically Mentally Ill

Mentally ill people can live in the community provided they have access to a range of life support, health, and mental health treatment and rehabilitation services. Existing services frequently fail to provide total life support and rehabilitation services in response to the individual's psychosocial needs. The specific objectives to accomplish the goals for a National Plan for the Chronically Mentally Ill are detailed in this report.
