Variation in Invertebrate Drift in Subarctic Alaskan Streams

Data from thirteen streams in interior, subarctic Alaska are analyzed to find predictive equations that explain the amount of invertebrate fish-food drifting in the water column. The alkalinity of the water and the stream's average velocity are found to be the factors that influence the amount of drift expressed as concentration or export rate.
