The Validation Summary Report (VSR) for the IBM Series 1 COBOL Compiler Version 1.2 (RPS Version 4.1) provides a consolidated summary of the results obtained from the validation of the subject compiler against the 1974 COBOL Standard (X3.23-1974/FIPS PUB 21-1). The compiler was validated at the Low-Intermediate level of FIPS PUB 21-1. The VSR is made up of several sections showing the discrepancies found. These include an overview of the validation which lists all categories of discrepancies by level/module within X3.23-1974, a section relating the categories of discrepancies to each of the Federal levels of the language; and a detailed listing of discrepancies together with the tests which were failed.
