Pollution Control Practices: Multimedia Environmental Goals

摘要

The paper reviews the development and evolution of the Multimedia Environmental Goals (MEGs) data for air, water, and land (solid waste) for discharge streams (DMEGs) and for ambient conditions (AMEGs) that are listed in the Design Institute for Physical Property Data (DIPPR) Data Compilation. The use of the MEGs for comparing the potential health and ecological damage from components, streams, and processes is presented. Cost effectiveness comparisons of alternate pollution control strategies using the MEGs are also outlined.
