Economic Development Investment Strategy for the Special Impact Area of Kansas City, Missouri

The proposed target area for BEU project development is located within the Kansas City, Missouri Special Impact Area (SIA). The SIA is an area that has exhibited significantly higher levels of economic instability and weakness as compared with the other areas within the City. Because of the modest rate of growth and economic expansion being experienced in the Kansas City metropolitan area, the marketing program strategy for the Target Area should focus on reaching and attracting existing firms in the region interested in relocating or expand new business ventures. The marketing program for the area should seek to capitalize on unique regional and local assets. Kansas City possesses a number of important assets that make it an attractive industrial location.
