The purpose and the key element of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Center is specialized technical assistance to firms adversely affected by imports. The ultimate objective is the recovery of the firm from the ill effect of imports that it can reestablish employment for displaced workers and otherwise contribute as a profit making entity to the tax base of its community.
