The Committee on Problems of Drug Dependence, for 47 years affiliated with the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council is now independently corporated. Membership in this highly respected group is drawn from all fields of clinical medicine, psychiatry, public health, pharmacology, chemistry, and the social sciences.
