Detection Instrumentation for Cable Shield Defects

摘要

This report describes work performed for the Bureau of Mines to evaluate available portable instruments for their effectiveness in detecting and locating damaged metallic shields in types SHD and SHC cables. A second phase of the program covers several instruments of a type that could prove effective and were purchased for modification and testing to verify their performance.
