摘要

Theoretical development of an improved design method for sizing water supply systems is presented, and its practical application illustrated. More specifically, a typical university apartment consisting of lavatories, bathtubs, sinks, and flush-valve operated water closets, is selected as an example. New design curves of the four fixtures are determined based on the predetermined values of duration of use, frequency of use, and average flow rates of fixtures. A new design curve (design flow versus fixture units) is developed according to the suggested relative demand weights or fixture units for estimating the water demand in an apartment.
