Defects in Galvanized Products - An Inspection Guide

The publication is meant to serve as a guide to the producers, customers and inspectors. It is in three parts. Part 1 gives a brief description about the various steps of the galvanizing process and the important parameters in these stages in order to produce a defect-free quality product. Part 2 gives a visual and micrographic description of defects, their causes, suggested remedies and some remarks aimed at assisting the customer and the inspector in understanding the import of the defect insofar as the appearance and protective function of the coating are concerned. Part 3 describes the test procedures for determining the coating weight, uniformity and adherence of the coating.
