Research Needs and Applications for Indicators Based on the Scientific and Technical Literature: Proceedings

摘要

A two-day conference was held April 9-10, to bring together information scientists, analytical methods specialists, and members of the science studies research community. Participants discussed six papers dealing with characteristics of scientific and technical information, indicator construction methods, ad science indicator applications. They also participated in workshops that explored the potential for applications of such indicators in their own fields of research on science studies, research management, and science policy. Edited versions of the papers will be published as the conference proceedings and distributed to the science studies community.
