Volume 9 contains 20 papers divided into two sections: Human Impact on Natural Resources, and Human impact upon vegetation and aquatic systems in Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Biscayne National Monument; horseback riding and other human activity impacts on various soils and trail surfaces, in Rocky Mountain and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks, White Sands National Monument, and Appalachian National Scenic Trail; and human impact on the backcountry resources of Rocky Mountain National Park. The impacts of off-road recreational vehicles upon foredunes at Assateague Island National Seashore, biotic and sedimentary processes at Padre Island National Seashore, and on barrier beach processes at Cape Cod National Seashore are discussed in the second section.
